Jelmoli opens three locations at Zurich Airport
Swiss Prime Site is expanding its retail business with Jelmoli - The House of Brands. From 2019, Jelmoli will be represented in three areas at Zurich Airport.
The premium department store Jelmoli will open the new locations at the airport in Zurich in a staggered manner. The lease agreement, which was concluded with Flughafen Zürich AG, covers space in the airside Airside Center, the landside Airport Center and "The Circle".
In "The Circle", Jelmoli will be represented with various sales concepts on more than 2,000 sqm in three central "Brand Houses". On the land side, the company plans to implement interactive "shoppertainment elements" on around 200 sqm in a digital concept store, according to Jelmoli parent company Swiss Prime Site (SPS). There will also be a "pop-up" area with various product placements. On the airside, shop-in-shop concepts will be implemented on an area of more than 400 sqm. The main focus will be on international luxury brands.
High location quality at Zurich Airport
René Zahnd, CEO of Swiss Prime Site, says: "Zurich Airport offers the optimal platform, infrastructure and location to strengthen Jelmoli as a brand and premium department store among an international group of customers". SPS emphasizes the high location quality of the airport.
Indeed, the foot traffic is enormous: as the latest traffic statistics show, more than two million passengers flew through Zurich Airport in November. In the entire previous year, a total of 26 million people departed, arrived or transferred in Zurich. In addition, there are around 27,000 employees in companies based at the airport and around 25,000 commuters every day. (ah)
