Clever Fit comes to Switzerland
The German gym chain Clever Fit is planning to enter the Swiss market. The company plans to open more than 20 locations in the next five years.

According to a report by the Handelszeitung Clever Fit will open its first location on Swiss soil in Schaffhausen in the fall. The studio is being built within the shell of Schaffhausen's soccer stadium, the Lipo Park retail and service center, and is to cover an area of just under 1,600 square meters.
The Swiss partner of Clever Fit GmbH is the Manser Immobilien Group from Arbon. It will take a 50 percent stake in Clever Sports AG, which is currently being set up. Manser has acquired the franchise rights for all parts of Switzerland, says management member Andreas Kosanke to the Handelszeitung. Over the next five years, Clever Fit plans to open up more than 20 locations in Switzerland.
With 540,000 members (as of the end of 2016), Clever Fit is considered the second-largest fitness studio operator in Germany. The chain positions itself as a discount fitness studio with inexpensive membership fees of around 20 euros per month. There are around 300 studios across Germany, and recently the company has also expanded more in Austria.
