ECE plans new shopping centre in the border region
In Singen, Germany, near Lake Constance and the Swiss border, a shopping center with 16,000 sqm of retail space will be built. The client is the German shopping center developer ECE.

The local council of Singen has approved the plans for the new shopping center "Cano" of ECE. The plans envisage a shopping center directly adjacent to the train station and pedestrian zone with 16,000 square meters of sales area and around 80 stores on three levels as well as gastronomic offerings. Around 500 parking spaces are also planned for the center. According to a report by the Südkurier the investment volume is around 165 million euros.
About a year ago, the majority of Singen's population voted in favor of the "Cano", and the city council had already voted in favor of the center before that.
The contracts for the project are now to be signed before the summer break. The city of Singen will sell the required land to ECE. In return, according to the media report, ECE has been contractually obligated, among other things, to establish retail for consumer electronics and food in the shopping center. These are sectors with insufficient supply in the city center.
According to the project developer, around 370,000 Germans and around 200,000 Swiss live in the center's catchment area.
