At Basel-based fashion chain Tally Weijl, the share of online sales is growing steadily, co-founder Beat Grüring said in an interview with the Basel newspaper. In the future, the company wants to cooperate with the big fashion retailers in the online market, such as Zalando, and sell on their platforms.

Meanwhile, with the stronger focus on online retailing, some stores are to be closed. Grüring said Tally Weijl will have fewer stores in the future than it does now. Basel will also not need three stores in the long term, he added. Just a few days ago, the fashion chain opened a flagship store at Marktplatz in Basel, which is intended to strengthen the brand's image. Otherwise, the stores are on average less than 250 square meters. Currently, Tally Weijl has 800 stores in 37 countries. 250 people work at the headquarters in Basel.
