This makes her the first woman to join the management team of Lidl Switzerland, headed by Georg Kröll as CEO. The real estate specialist has already been working for the German food discounter for eight years, with one interruption. Von Veltheim takes over from Marco Landolt, the previous Chief Real Estate Officer, who is moving to the international level to take on a new responsibility in the executive management function.
Lidl Switzerland was founded at the end of 2003 and opened its first stores on 19 March 2009. In the meantime, the store network has grown to over 100 locations. The discounter operates two goods distribution centres in Weinfelden (TG) and Sévaz (FR). The most recent store openings in Switzerland took place in May 2017 in Affoltern am Albis (ZH), in August in Schaffhausen and Münchwilen (TG) and in October in the municipality of Kehrsatz near Bern.
