Landquart Fashion Outlet: More turnover, more visitors
Landquart Fashion Outlet reported an increase in sales of 10% for the 2018 fiscal year. The number of visitors increased by 6%.
Landquart Fashion Outlet, which belongs to VIA Outlets, looks back with satisfaction on the past financial year. The company reports that it was able to consolidate its market position in the demanding Swiss retail market. While the turnover of the non-food retail sector fell by 1.3% in Switzerland last year, Fashion Outlet achieved an increase in turnover of 10%. The company is convinced that it will be able to continue this growth trend in 2019, says center director Mathias Bommer.
New additions of well-known brands such as Arc'teryx, H&M, Hunkemöller, Kägi, Mammut, Skechers and the Gallery/Marc O'Polo have also increased the center's occupancy rate, he said.
Bommer adds that in 2018, the number of international group arrivals quadrupled. According to the outlet's statement, the reasons are partnerships in the tourism sector and a new tax-free service with the provider Global Blue. Evaluations by Global Blue showed that the number of tax-free transactions made at Landquart Fashion Outlet increased by 18.7% in 2018 compared to the previous year. In 2019, partnerships with Switzerland Tourism, Heidiland Tourism and Davos Klosters, as well as with hotels and other tourism partners, are to be further expanded, and activities in the core foreign markets - China, Southeast Asia and the Arabian Gulf States - are also to be driven forward.
The "Landquart Fashion Club" launched in 2017 also made an important contribution to the good business performance in 2018, the report continues. Initial findings show that members of the Fashion Club shop more often in the outlet on average, stay longer and spend 35% more. (ah)
