The department store group wants to strongly increase the online share of sales and has announced "structural adjustments" to the store network to this end. The location in Bachenbülach will be closed at the end of April this year, and the retailer is also looking for a successor solution for the supermarkets in Liestal and Delémont.

Manor cites insufficient visitor frequency at the location in the industrial area of Bülach as the reason for the closure in Bachenbülach. In addition, the involuntary closure of the flagship store on Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse this year meant that the company had to compensate for a considerable financial loss, the company added.

Manor also intends to implement a new retail organizational structure. At the end of January, the future 60 department stores will be bundled into 28 sales units, each headed by a store director. This reorganisation will affect a dozen department store directors and around 40 other employees, the company said.

The group currently owns 61 department stores, 31 supermarkets and 28 restaurants. (ah)
