New owner for Conforama Switzerland
A Swiss investor has acquired the Conforama furniture chain with 22 stores nationwide from the Steinhoff Group.
Conforama has been present in Switzerland since 1976 and currently operates 22 stores in German-speaking Switzerland, French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino, as well as an online store. According to the company, it has been acquired by a Swiss investor group.
With the new shareholder, Conforama is regaining the independence "as we knew it at the very beginning more than 40 years ago," says Patrice Dupasquier, CEO of Conforama Switzerland. The aim, he said, is to consolidate Conforama Switzerland's position as an omnichannel market leader in the furniture and household appliances sectors.
According to various media reports, the new owner is the entrepreneur Dan Mamane, who holds shares in various companies from the electronics industry. (ah)
