Ikea penetrates the city centers
The Swedish furniture group also wants to sell its products in city centers in the future. To this end, the company is relying on a new retail concept. The second location has now opened in Zurich.

Ikea has opened a 300-square-meter "plan and order point" in Zurich to bring its products and services to city centers as well. It is the second location of the format in Switzerland, the first having opened at Chur train station in September.
At the "Plan and order points" there are a few selected furnishing models and sample rooms, and it is also possible to take advantage of services such as kitchen and cabinet planning. Customers can also place orders on site, which are then delivered to their homes.
The new store format is intended to meet changing needs, says Jessica Anderen, CEO and CSO of Ikea Switzerland. "Online shopping is also on the rise for furniture, but at the same time, the shopping experience and especially advice are more in demand than ever. More and more people are looking for professional assistance with home furnishings."
There are a good 30 "plan and order points" worldwide. The concept has been introduced in major cities such as London, Stockholm, Berlin and New York. (ah)
