SPS takes over Seniocare
Swiss Prime Site AG (SPS) is acquiring Seniocare, thereby strengthening its "Living and Housing in Old Age" division. The purchase agreement for the acquisition of 100 percent of the share capital was signed on August 26, SPS announced on the occasion of the publication of its half-year results.
Seniocare is considered the top-selling provider in the nursing home sector in Switzerland. In 2014, the company generated sales of CHF 107.1 million. It manages a total of 29 operating facilities with 1,128 care beds and 214 apartments.
According to SPS, the acquisition makes the Tertianum Group, which is part of SPS, the private provider with the highest sales in the "Living and Housing in Old Age" segment. The geographical distribution of Seniocare's operating facilities ideally complements Tertianum's current locations, SPS says.
Seniocare's service portfolio comprises assisted living, dementia care and inpatient care. The Competition Commission (WEKO) still has to approve the takeover. (ah)
