SME plans clinic with hotel at Tegernsee

The Sports Medicine Exellence Group (SME) from Rehetobel (AR) has acquired parts of the iodine-sulfur spa in Bad Wiessee on Lake Tegernsee in Upper Bavaria. A hotel and a medical center are to be built on the site, reports the local newspaper "Tegernseer Stimme".

In addition to the hotel, a facility for outpatient operations and a therapy and regeneration center are planned. The well-known architect Matteo Thun is to design the wooden building.

The contracts for the 18,000 sqm area of the Jodbad including the listed Wandelhalle were signed at the beginning of September. There is no statement from the contracting parties about the exact purchase price.

The municipality of Bad Wiessee has concluded an implementation agreement with the SME Group. As soon as the architect presents a plan, the municipal council intends to discuss the establishment of a development plan. (ah)
