Boas Senior Care is regarded as the leading operator of retirement and nursing homes in French-speaking Switzerland. With the acquisition, the Tertianum Group, which belongs to SPS, is now represented throughout Switzerland.

The contract to acquire 100 percent of the shares in the senior care activities of Boas-Yakhin Holding SA, Crissier, was signed on December 15, and the transaction is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2016. In this context, Swiss Prime Investment Foundation is taking over eight properties.

Boas Senior Care generated sales of around CHF 70 million in 2014 and manages a total of 15 operating facilities with 632 care beds and 176 apartments. Following the transaction, the Tertianum Group will manage a total of 2,492 care beds and around 1,600 apartments.

Boas Senior Care will continue with the existing management as a regional subsidiary of Tertianum.

Printing center becomes education center

SPS wants to convert the newly acquired NZZ printing center at Zürcherstrasse 39 in Schlieren into an education center. In addition to infrastructure for training and further education as well as research and development, coworking spaces and rooms for the community, sports and culture are also envisaged.

Peter Lehmann, Chief Investment Officer of Swiss Prime Site AG, says: "Education is a growth market and the property's location is ideally suited for this, as it is easily accessible and not far from existing universities and research facilities."

In February 2015, the NZZ Media Group announced the closure of the Schlieren printing center in response to the considerable overcapacity in the Swiss newspaper printing market. In the future, the NZZ Media Group will use existing service rooms in the property as a tenant. (ah)
