With the newly acquired ADZ and the company ahochn in its portfolio, BKW now claims to be one of the largest planning offices in the Swiss building technology sector.

ADZ is active in the planning of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC) systems, as well as in the areas of building automation, laboratory planning, energy and sustainability, and plant fire protection. The planning office has offices in Lucerne, Basel and Zurich and handles challenging building services projects throughout German-speaking Switzerland. For example, ADZ planned the entire HVAC technology and building automation for the Swissporarena in Lucerne and also took over the building technology coordination for this project. Likewise, the company was commissioned with the HVAC planning and building services coordination for the Sihlcity shopping center in Zurich.

ADZ employs 60 people and has generated annual sales in the lower double-digit million range in recent years. The owner-managed ADZ will continue to operate as an independent company within the BKW Group.

Michael De Martin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ADZ, says of its inclusion in the BKW Group: "Being embedded in a larger structure gives us additional security on the one hand, but also the opportunity to constantly develop further." Renato Sturani, member of the BKW Group Executive Board, adds: "With its competencies and fields of activity, ADZ ideally complements our BKW family and the already broad ahochn portfolio in building technology planning."

The listed BKW Group is an internationally active energy and infrastructure company headquartered in Berne. It employs over 4,000 people and plans, builds and operates energy production and supply infrastructures for companies, private individuals and the public sector. (ah)
