The infrastructure contract is part of the major "Grand Paris Express" project. Implenia is taking on the contract together with consortium partners NGE, Demathieu & Bard and Pizzarotti (IT). The contract is being financed by the Syndicat des transport d'Île-de-France (STIF), the public transport authority responsible for local public transport, the Société du Grand Paris and the Conseil Général de Seine-Saint-Denis.

With the "Grand Paris Express", a transport network consisting of six driverless metro lines will be created by 2030 to better connect the metropolis with neighboring residential areas in the greater Paris region (Île-de-France). A total of around 210 kilometers of new tunnel lines and almost 70 new underground stations are being built. Work on Lot GC01 will start in October 2016 and take around four years.

Implenia sees the project win as an important acquisition success in the French market. (ah)
