Swiss Life Switzerland: Markus Leibundgut to become new CEO
Markus Leibundgut, currently CEO of Swiss Life Germany, will become CEO of Swiss Life Switzerland as of April 1, 2017. Ivo Furrer, who has held this position since 2008, is leaving the company.
Ivo Furrer (59) intends to contribute his experience and knowledge to board of directors and foundation board mandates in the future, Swiss Life announces. The search for a successor for the CEO position in Germany, which will be vacant from 1.4.2017, is underway.
Markus Leibundgut, who studied physics and mathematics, joined Swiss Life in 2012 and initially headed the Finance & Actuarial Division at Swiss Life Switzerland as CFO, where he was also a member of the Executive Board. In 2013, Markus Leibundgut became Chief Operating Officer and thus a member of the Executive Board of Swiss Life Germany. Since April 2014, Markus Leibundgut has been CEO Germany and a member of the Swiss Life Group's Corporate Executive Board. (ah)
