The new data analytics department is intended to "meet the challenges of Big Data, Smart Data and Data Science" and further expand the processing and management of real estate data, according to BNP Paribas Real Estate.

The new department is to collect all available data and prepare real estate-related activities in as much detail as possible in order to offer new services to customers.

Christophe Pineau (48) will take over the reins. The Frenchman has been appointed Chief Data & Analytics Officer and in this role will report directly to Pascal Maury, Deputy Managing Director for Human Resources, Strategy & Innovation.

Pineau has worked in BNP Paribas Real Estate's Research department for 16 years, and has been Global Head of Research since 2010. He leads a 50-person team that serves the real estate firm's six business units across Europe.
