Wincasa launches Mixed-Use Site Management

Mixed-use site management is a response to a growing market need, Wincasa says. A department set up specifically for this purpose will deal with the operation of mixed-use sites before and after conversion, up to and including urban management.

"We are increasingly observing a trend toward more spacious sites with broadly mixed uses, i.e., away from a focus on a single type of use or property," notes Philipp Schoch, head of the new Center & Mixed-Use Site Management division at Wincasa. "Retail density in Switzerland is already very high. Therefore, investors and leading real estate developers will focus on mixed-use sites rather than classic shopping centers in the future," he says. Wincasa, which is part of Swiss Prime Site, is considered the largest independent shopping center operator in Switzerland.

Wincasa sees great potential

Wincasa therefore sees great potential and new development opportunities for the Swiss market in mixed-use site management. According to the real estate service provider, this new type of site management goes far beyond traditional commercial and technical management services.

In addition to Schoch as the new Head of Center & Mixed-Use Site Management, Thomas Hinderling (42) will be the new Head of Mixed-Use Site Management Zurich at Wincasa. He holds an Executive MBA Marketing FH and was previously CEO and partner of various marketing and distribution companies.

Wincasa is already managing its first major mixed-use site management mandates: the Prime Tower site including the Maag Event Hall, the NZZ printing center and the Siemens site. Wincasa is a group company of Swiss Prime Site and manages around 230,000 properties with an asset value of CHF 64 billion.
