Implenia project nominated as "Construction Project of the Year 2016
The jury of the Norwegian industry magazine "Byggeindustrien" has nominated the E6 Frya-Sjoa infrastructure project for the "Construction Project of the Year 2016" award. Implenia realized the road project in a consortium with K.A. Aurstad.

From January 2014 to December 2016, Implenia and its consortium partner K.A. Aurstad built the new E6 Frya-Sjoa highway around 80 kilometers northwest of Lillehammer for the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. With a contract value of around 1.595 billion Norwegian kroner, it was the largest single road infrastructure contract ever awarded in Norway's history at the time the contract was signed. Implenia's share amounted to around 60 percent.
Implenia was responsible for the Vinstra-Sjoa road section. In addition to classic road construction sections, the project consists of a number of technically demanding structures, according to the company. These include a 16-kilometer-long expressway including additional and passing lanes, a 3.6-kilometer-long tunnel, four bridges, two tunnel portals and 17 overpasses and underpasses. The contract also included around twelve kilometers of local roads and approximately 1.6 kilometers of pedestrian and cycle paths. The E6 was opened on December 17, 2016.
Now the jury of the Norwegian industry magazine Byggeindustries the E6 Frya-Sjoa for the "Construction Project of the Year 2016" award - along with two other projects. The winner will be announced at a gala event at Building Week 2017 in Oslo on March 29, 2017. Implenia sees the nomination as "proof of its high level of infrastructure expertise and strong presence in the Scandinavian market".
