Implenia: Award for infrastructure project
Implenia has won the Norwegian "Construction Project of the Year 2016" award for the E6 Frya-Sjoaden road infrastructure project.
The award from the Norwegian industry magazine Byggeindustries was awarded to Implenia at a gala event in Oslo. The project prevailed over two other nominees.
From January 2014 to December 2016, the contractor, together with ARGE partner K.A. Aurstad, completed one of two lots of the E6 Frya-Sjoa road infrastructure project. ARGE was responsible for the Vinstra-Sjoa road section, which accounted for around half of the total project volume. Among other things, the section comprised a 16-kilometer expressway including additional and passing lanes, a 3.6-kilometer tunnel, five bridges, two tunnel portals, and over 17 overpasses and underpasses.
In addition, Implenia constructed around 12 kilometers of municipal roads and approx. 1.6 kilometers of pedestrian and cycle paths. The project by the Norwegian road construction authority Statens vegvesen was opened to traffic at the end of 2016.
