Job cuts at Implenia
Implenia has announced capacity adjustments at its Implenia Construction Switzerland business unit, which is active in road construction and civil engineering. Overall, jobs are to be cut by a mid-double-digit amount.
Implenia Construction Switzerland's branches in Basel and Berne as well as the southeastern Switzerland region are affected, the company says. "We have overcapacities in urban civil engineering in these regions. The adjustments are intended to ensure the successful continuation of this business in the regions," says André Métral, head of the business unit.
The total number of jobs affected is in the mid-double digits, company spokesman Reto Aregger told news agency sda. In Bern, twelve employees were affected. In southeastern Switzerland, five employees have been given notice to change their jobs, meaning that only their workloads will be reduced.
