Empira Group: New Head of Research
PD Dr. Steffen Metzner MRICS (44) is the new Head of Research at Empira Group in Zug, an investment manager for institutional real estate investments.
The habilitated business economist and real estate economist has strengthened the Empira team since July 1, 2017. Steffen Metzner has more than 15 years of experience in the field of real estate research, development and consulting. His previous academic positions as a private lecturer include the further development of the Real Estate Management major at the University of Leipzig, the establishment of the Real Estate Economics department at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, and the support of other degree programs at universities throughout the German-speaking world.
In addition to his research and teaching activities, he advises banks, insurance companies and pension funds on real estate controlling and portfolio management. Mandates include the development of rating systems for the real estate lending division of numerous banks and portfolio construction for AFIAA Anlagestiftung für Immobilienanlagen im Ausland (Zurich). As part of his new role, Metzner will be particularly active in strategy consulting for institutional investors in the fund products, for example with regard to investment strategies and locations, according to the company.
