Hudej interest houses comes to Switzerland

Hudej Zinshäuser specializes in the marketing of apartment buildings and investment properties and intends to address new investor groups with its move to Zurich. The focus is, for example, on high net worth individuals and family offices from Switzerland, but another target group, according to the company, is international investors who are advised by Swiss asset managers. The company expects an additional investment volume of around one billion euros within the next five years.

"There are many private individuals and family offices in Switzerland who are looking for high security for their assets, combined with reasonable returns. The Austrian Zinshaus meets this need like hardly any other investment," says Gerhard Hudej, founder and managing director of Hudej Zinshäuser. Nevertheless, it is hardly known among the Swiss.

The price and yield of Austrian apartment houses are convincing for Swiss investors, Hudej believes: "Prices per square meter in Austria are very favorable compared to those in Switzerland, and yields in the apartment house market are far above those of other asset classes that offer a similarly high level of security." In international comparison, relatively low rents would characterize the Austrian apartment house market. In Vienna, for example, many houses still had old contracts with monthly rents of less than 4 euros/sqm. At the same time, the federal capital is growing strongly and ranks among the world leaders in terms of quality of life. In the company's view, this offers great potential for future increases in the long term.

Hudej Zinshäuser was founded by Gerhard Hudej in 2012 and accompanied transactions with a total value of around 300 million euros in 2016. To date, the company is present at four locations in Austria: in Vienna, Salzburg, Graz and Linz. A separate company, Hudej Investment Consulting AG, was founded for the market entry into Switzerland. It operates from the Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich.
