Bank Bonhôte takes over FidFund Management
Bank Bonhôte in Neuchâtel acquires its fund management company FidFund Management SA in Nyon, becoming a major player in securitized real estate in Switzerland.
Banque Bonhôte & Cie SA, together with Caceis (Switzerland) SA, acquired the fund management company FidFund Management SA in mid-February. This strategic investment represents a decisive new stage in the verticalization of the Bonhôte Group's real estate offering, positioning it as one of the major players in the Swiss real estate management business.
FidFund Management SA employs twelve people who are involved in the direct management of three real estate funds and the administrative management of three other funds. The company, based in Nyon, manages a real estate portfolio worth over CHF 3.5 billion.
When the Bonhôte-Immobilier investment fund was created in 2006, the management of the fund was entrusted to the company FidFund Management SA. Since then, the fund has become a leader on the Swiss market with a real estate portfolio of over 900 million with 2,500 high quality apartments in Western Switzerland. In particular, the fund offers unitholders the benefit of full exemption from income and wealth tax. With the ownership of the fund management, Bonhôte takes full control of the entire investment process.
According to Yves de Montmollin, Group CEO, the acquisition marks a new stage in the bank's very encouraging development: "This move fits perfectly with the Group's current development and underlines our desire to further expand our presence in the canton of Vaud, where we recently opened a new branch in Lausanne. Specifically, this purchase provides us with all the means to continue the spectacular growth of our real estate fund and consolidates the Bonhôte Group's position as a major player in the Swiss real estate management business."
The Bonhôte Group, with its head office in Neuchâtel and branches in Geneva, Lausanne, Berne and Biel, which celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2015, is delighted with the new expansion of its presence in French-speaking Switzerland.
