Swiss Life: Infrastructure fund invests in fiber optic network
The recently launched infrastructure fund Swiss Life Funds (Lux) Global Infrastructure Opportunities Growth is investing in Swiss4net, a company that develops, builds, finances and operates fiber optic networks in Switzerland.

Swiss4Net currently has two regional networks in Baden (AG) and Chiasso (TI) with around 25,000 households connected, according to a statement from Swiss Life Asset Managers. Further expansions are planned, it said.
In April 2018, Swiss4net was fully acquired by Arcus European Infrastructure Fund 2 SCSp, and the Swiss Life infrastructure fund is now entering with a minority stake. As Christoph Manser, Head Infrastructure Investments of the company, says, it is the first investment of SL FL GIO Growth. "By providing fiber optic networks, we as an investor are benefiting from the rapidly growing demand for reliable high-bandwidth data network infrastructure."
SL FL GIO Growth was launched at the end of July with 325 million euros (CHF 362 million). Further investments are planned for the coming months, Swiss Life AM added. (ah)
