Implenia wins contract in Sweden
Implenia has been awarded a contract by the Swedish municipality of Lidingö to build a new 730 m long bridge.
The municipality of Lidingö near Stockholm has commissioned Implenia to build a new bridge over the Lilla Värtan strait. The old bridge will then be dismantled. The new "Lilla Lidingö" bridge will be 730 m long, making it one of the longest bridges in Sweden. It will be built as a concrete structure for pedestrian, cyclist and streetcar traffic between Ropsten and Lidingö. The contract is reportedly worth around CHF 60 million.
Work on the Lilla Lidingö bridge is scheduled to start in November. According to planning, it will be opened to traffic in December 2022. The old bridge is to be demolished in 2023. (ah)
