PetroplastVinora ceased production on the 24,000-square-meter site in spring 2017, after which the industrial site was rezoned to residential and commercial use. The new owner Noldin Immobilien, a family-owned company based in Zurich, wants to develop a neighborhood with residential and commercial uses. For this purpose, a project study competition for the special use planning is to be carried out as a first step.

The location of the site north of the city center, the transport links and the immediate proximity to the existing recreational areas around the Lattenbach are "excellent conditions for the development of a new, lively center," writes SPG Intercity in a statement. The area will be used temporarily until at least spring 2020. Today, it is home to a bouldering hall, a concert hall and creative and IT companies, among others.

SPG Intercity Zurich accompanied the rezoning process on behalf of the owner and sold the property in a closed sales process. A rezoned factory site in such an attractive location is rarely offered, according to the real estate service provider. The interest on the part of investors was correspondingly high. (ah)
