PropTech1 Ventures describes itself as Germany's first venture capital fund specializing in European PropTech startups. The first Swiss venture partner and investor has now become Dr. Beat Schwab.

Schwab, who was formerly head of Global Real Estate at Credit Suisse Asset Management, is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zug Estates, Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) and Raiffeisen Schweiz Genossenschaft, among others. In addition, however, he has also been active as a business angel in the PropTech environment for several years.

In the role of venture partner, Schwab will bring his experience in asset and property management as well as his network in the real estate sector to PropTech1 Ventures, the fund writes in a statement. Schwab is also investing in PropTech1 through his private company. The fund expects Schwab's involvement to expand its presence in the "attractive Swiss market." (ah)
