Swiss Life Asset Managers: Positive balance sheet for 2018

According to Swiss Life Asset Managers, it completed real estate transactions worth almost ten billion euros across Europe in 2018.

According to Swiss Life Asset Managers, residential and commercial real estate totaling around EUR 7.6 billion was acquired from the Swiss, French, German and UK markets in 2018. These purchases were offset by sales of residential and commercial real estate totaling around 1.9 billion. Around 500 million was invested in project developments. In total, real estate worth 81 billion was managed across Europe at the end of 2018.

Swiss Life claims to own the largest privately held real estate portfolio in Switzerland. In 2018, the company acquired, among other things the Widder hotel property in Zurich and the 4 Torri residential tower project in Locarno acquired.

According to the asset manager, the real estate portfolio in Germany is to be gradually expanded through the purchase of residential, office and retail properties "with high location quality and excellent property characteristics". The company also intends to invest in segments in which it sees high growth potential, such as healthcare properties, student residences and co-working spaces. (ah)
