Christoph Starck is expected to take up his new position at the beginning of next year, the SIA says. Christoph Starck has headed the office of Lignum, the Swiss Forestry and Timber Industry Association, for the past 15 years. He studied forestry at ETH Zurich and completed an MBA at the University of St. Gallen.

Starck has a broad network in the construction industry, politics, business and research, as well as many years of experience in managing the office of an association, the SIA added.

He succeeds Joris Van Wezemael, from whom the association parted company in January due to "irreconcilable differences regarding the realignment of the SIA and the corresponding organization of the office," as it said at the time. Van Wezemael is now a partner at the consulting firm Imhof Odinga. (ah)
