The Viennese startup Storebox was founded two years ago and is represented in Austria and Germany with almost 100 locations so far. Now the company also wants to open up Switzerland.

According to Storebox, Switzerland is one of the growth markets for self-storage in Europe. The Swiss currently have only 0.01 square meters of self-storage space per inhabitant, which is around half the EU average.

According to Storebox, the concept is based on that of a local supplier: smaller, fully digitalized warehouse locations are to be set up that fit in well with the local environment and are to be easily accessible for customers. To this end, Storebox is relying on both its own locations and a franchise system. In Switzerland, the Viennese company is starting with a franchise partner - the first location is to be set up this summer in Basel. The Swiss office is located in Kreuzlingen. (ah)
