Gorgeous Smiling Hotels comes to Switzerland
The German hotel group Gorgeous Smiling Hotels takes over the two Holiday Inn hotels in Bern and Zurich from Turicum Hotel Management Group.
The Zurich Holiday Inn is located in Oerlikon and comprises 164 rooms and seven meeting rooms. In the immediate vicinity are, among others, the Zurich Exhibition Center and the Hallenstadion.
The Holiday Inn in Bern is part of the Westside shopping and leisure center designed by Daniel Libeskind. The hotel has 144 rooms and eleven meeting rooms. In addition to a mall, Westside also includes an adventure pool and a cinema.
Gorgeous Smiling Hotels completes its market entry in Switzerland with the acquisition of the two hotels. "The expansion into Switzerland is a significant step for us," says Andreas Erben, one of the hotel group's managing directors. The company operates 100 properties in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and now Switzerland - further expansion in these countries is planned. Gorgeous Smiling Hotels also plans to tap into the British market, according to its own statements. (ah)
