Ralf Kind (48) brings more than 20 years of experience in real estate finance, Edmond de Rothschild writes in a media release. Kind was previously CEO/CFO of DEMIRE Deutsche Mittelstand Real Estate and CEO of Fair Value REIT, two listed German real estate companies. In 2013, he founded the investment manager Arbireo Capital. Prior to that, he spent twelve years at Barclays Capital, where he led the real estate investment banking team in the DACH region, among others.
At Rothschild, they see a "compelling market opportunity" for private real estate lending in Europe. "Traditional lenders are reducing their real estate exposure, while borrowers are looking for flexible and reliable capital providers," says Christophe Caspar, Global Head of Asset Management at Edmond de Rothschild Group.
In the coming year, the focus will be on higher-yielding approaches with a pan-European "origination strategy," the statement continues. Later, a more conservative senior debt strategy will be added to the offering. This will close a gap in the market for both borrowers and investors. (ah)
