Samih Sawiris takes over ad interim at ODH
Following the accidental death of CEO Khaled Bichara, Samih Sawiris takes over the management of Orascom Development Holding for a transitional period.
Samih Sawiris will assume the role of executive chairman and lead the executive management team for an interim period until a new CEO is appointed, Orascom Development Holding (ODH) said. Sawiris will be supported by an interim committee consisting of members of the board of directors and the executive management, which Sawiris will chair.
In addition to Sawiris, the committee will include BoD members Naguib S. Sawiris and Jürgen Fischer, CFO Ashraf Nessim and member of the Executive Board Abdelhamid Abouyoussef. It will support the company's management in operations and lead the appointment and introduction of a new CEO.
ODH had announced on Jan. 31 that its CEO Khaled Bichara was killed in an accident. (ah)
