According to the asset manager, the launch of the foundation will establish the Remnex AST Swiss Real Estate Commercial ECO investment group, which invests in commercial and industrial real estate in Switzerland, as well as in CO2-reducing and energy-producing assets that are firmly linked to the property (e.g. integrated photovoltaic systems, battery storage systems, environmentally friendly energy centers in industrial/commercial parks).

The aim is to build and expand a sustainable commercial and industrial real estate portfolio that implements the Swiss government's Energy Strategy 2050 and provides sustainable rental space for Swiss commercial and SME businesses. Investments will be made in existing properties with sustainable earnings prospects and in properties with development potential, as well as in new construction and development projects.

For the launch of the investment group, a diversified real estate portfolio of business parks and industrial properties worth around CHF 150 million has been secured, it says. The subscription period for the initial issue runs until March 20, 2020.

Remnex AG, headquartered in Zug, was founded in August 2019. Its Board of Trustees consists of three well-known players in the Swiss real estate market: the Foundation is chaired by Peter Wullschleger, CEO and Delegate of the Board of Directors of Deal Estate AG and independent director. Members of the Foundation Board are Prof. Dr. Donato Scognamiglio, Titular Professor and Head of the Real Estate Finance Department at the Institute of Financial Management of the University of Bern and CEO of IAZI AG, and Daniel Lippuner, International CEO/COO and independent Board member. Managing Director is Natalie Fricker, COO of Remnex AG. (bw)
