New director for Lignum
Sandra Burlet is to become the new director of Lignum. She is currently deputy director of bauenschweiz, the umbrella organization for the construction industry.
Sandra Burlet will succeed Christoph Starck as director from August 2020, who left Lignum in the fall of 2019 after a good 15 years, to become Managing Director of the Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects SIA.
The 49-year-old Burlet holds a degree in economics and political science and, after completing her licentiate, worked for around nine years at the Swiss Homeowners' Association as an economist and member of the management team. In 2010, she moved to bauenschweiz as Head of Communications and Projects, where she was jointly responsible for the operational management of the office as Deputy Director from 2014.
Thanks to her background, Burlet has an excellent network in the construction and real estate industry as well as extensive experience in associations and political work. The association says that she is thus an "excellent match" for the requirements profile of the search committee for the successor in the Lignum directorate.
Lignum, Holzwirtschaft Schweiz is the umbrella organization of the Swiss forestry and timber industry. It unites associations and organizations of the timber chain, institutions from research and teaching, public bodies as well as a large number of
