Edmond de Rothschild REIM has acquired a light industrial property with a large inner courtyard (plot: 11,000 sqm), built in 1996, from a private investor in the Lange Weide industrial park in Utrecht for the Edmond de Rotschild Euro Industrial Real Estate Fund. There is no information about the purchase price. According to the company, the property consists of three warehouses; one of them was converted into a two-story building, which now houses a showroom and offices. The total leasable area of the property is approximately 2,100 square meters. The property is occupied on a long-term basis by a manufacturer and wholesaler of brick pavers, ceramic tiles, garden sheds, garden timber, artificial turf and other garden products.

"With this purchase, we are consistently implementing our fund strategy of acquiring light industrial properties in urban, densely built-up locations where we forecast rental growth. With the acquisition in Utrecht, the fund's portfolio grows to 15 properties. Further properties are already under consideration," says René de Heus, Head of Investment Benelux at Edmond de Rothschild REIM.

Edmond de Rothschild REIM was assisted in this transaction by 1530 Real Estate as brokerage firm. DLA Piper advised on legal matters and SGS Research advised on technical matters. Bernd-Jan Bolwijn Vastgoed Consultancy B.V. advised the seller. (bw)
