Westhive remains on expansion course
Westhive AG, one of Switzerland's largest providers of flexible office space, team offices and coworking workplaces, closes a successful financing round and expands its board of directors in anticipation of expansion.

At Westhive AG, which since opening its first flexible office space two years ago on Hardturmstrasse in Zurich's industrial district has been in the initial expansion phase until today has grown to around 900 jobs at a total of five locations in Zurich and Basel, the signs continue to point to growth. According to the company, the number of locations is set to double in the next two years, with a focus on Switzerland's urban centers, including in particular Geneva, Lausanne, Zug, St. Gallen and further locations in Zurich.
To finance its ambitious plans, Westhive successfully completed a financing round in March. "Even though we are already operating profitably at the individual sites, we are still dependent on external capital for expansion. Of course, we could also grow purely on our own - but it would take longer," says Westhive co-founder Andreas Widmer.
In order to drive growth in a focused manner, Westhive AG has also made personnel changes to the Board of Directors. Andreas Widmer has handed over his position as Chairman of the Board of Directors to Martin Bosshardt, formerly Partner and CEO of Open Systems AG, as of May 2020. Widmer will remain on the board, as will the two other founders Bruno Rambaldi and Claus Bornholt Member of the Board of Directors.
In addition to Bosshardt and the founders, Gerhard E. Walde, Chairman of the Board of Directors of real estate marketer Walde und Partner, and Michael Widmer, lawyer and Managing Director of Brino Group, also sit on the Board of Directors of Westhive AG. In Bosshardt's view, Westhive is "on the verge of a major growth spurt": "The world of commercial real estate is currently undergoing a sustained transformation. More and more companies are looking for flexibility in renting office space." (bw)
