Naef Immobilier receives Fair-ON-Pay label

Equal pay for work of equal value has been a fundamental right enshrined in the Federal Constitution since 1981, but the reality often looks different. Naef Immobilier SA is committed to a wage policy based on equality principles and carried out a corresponding certification project in November 2019.

In June 2020, Naef Immobilier received the Fair-ON-Pay label, which certifies compliance with equal pay between women and men in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Office for Equality. This was preceded by an in-depth analysis of the salary data of all Naef subsidiaries by Comp-On, a service company that acts as an expert for the Federal Office for Equality in the field of salary analyses in the context of public procurement.

Equal pay for work of equal value has been a fundamental right enshrined in the Federal Constitution since 1981, but in reality pay gaps still exist, prompting Swiss authorities to take a stricter approach in this area. New legislation now requires companies with 100 or more employees to conduct an internal equal pay analysis by the end of June 2021.

Naef Immobilier adopted an equal pay policy long before these legal provisions came into force and carried out the certification project in November 2019. The company employs nearly 350 people, 217 of whom are women. 40% of the managers are women, and women are also represented on the Board of Directors and in the General Management.

From the point of view of Etienne Nagy, CEO of Naef Immobilier, the Fair On Pay label strengthens the company's image as a quality employer: "It was important for us to prove this with a certification that meets the criteria of the Equal Opportunities Office, and that's why we chose the Fair On Pay label." Naef Immobilier is thus "the first real estate agency in Switzerland to be certified by specialists to show that it respects equal pay for its employees." (bw)
