Ina Invest awards major construction contracts to Implenia
Implenia has won four building construction project contracts worth just under CHF 200 million. The client is largely Ina Invest, a spin-off of the construction group.
According to Implenia, two of the contracts are projects in the Basel region, while the other two are for the Lokstadt development in Winterthur, where a new urban district is being built on the former site of the Swiss Locomotive and Machine Factory (SLM).
In all four of them, Ina Invest is the majority client and builder, the real estate company listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange since June 12. The projects are Implenia's own developments that were outsourced to Ina Invest as part of the spin-off, Implenia says.
Hotel and apartments in Basel-Land
The two Basel projects have a total project volume of around CHF 57 million. On the BaseLink development site in Allschwil (BL), Implenia will build a new business hotel with 220 rooms in the 3-star plus category starting in the summer. BaseLink covers a total area of around 75,000 square meters; when completed, up to 10,000 new jobs are to be created there in the areas of research, development, production, services and commerce.
Implenia is building the Schwinbach residential complex in Arlesheim (BL), in the immediate vicinity of the famous Goetheanum. Fifty-two condominiums are being built in four buildings (Minergie P and timber construction). Construction is scheduled for 2023 to 2025.
Offices and apartments in the Lokstadt
In Lokstadt in Winterthur, Implenia has been commissioned as the general contractor for the construction of the Bigboy and Tender building ensemble. The total project volume is around 98 million, with completion scheduled for summer 2023.
Ina Invest and the Winterthur healthcare organization SWICA are investors in the 50-meter high-rise Bigboy, which is being built in the second stage of the site development and will comprise 125 rental apartments. The ground and second floors of Bigboy will include commercial space, some of which will be two stories high, oriented toward the center of the site, Dialogplatz. The Tender building will include 82 condominium apartments, 39 of which are located in the 35-meter high tower. The sale of the apartments is to begin shortly.
Ina Invest has also commissioned Implenia to execute the sustainable Elefant office building. SWICA has leased the entire building and will set up a new company location there. The contract is worth around 41 million; the building is scheduled for completion in December 2022. (ah)
