Implenia acquires building construction projects in Germany
Implenia won new orders in Germany in July with a volume equivalent to around CHF 108 million. Construction is underway in the Ruhr region, Munich and Mannheim.

Implenia is to construct new office buildings for Landmarken AG on the former Opel site in Bochum. Several office buildings with up to six floors and around 65,000 sqm of gross floor area (GFA) are being constructed in three phases in the Mark 51°7 industrial estate on Opelring in Bochum-Laer. Of these, Implenia will construct three buildings with around 25,000 sqm GFA, two-thirds of which have already been leased to the Viactiv health insurance company. Construction is scheduled to start in the fall of 2020.
Implenia also announces that it is building an innovative sports and leisure facility for a Swiss project developer and operator on a disused industrial site in the Ruhr region, "the first of its kind to be built in continental Europe". There are already around 60 such facilities worldwide, which offer a mix of entertainment, sports, music, gastronomy and events. The concept will be realized in the Ruhr region as a market entry in Europe. Further facilities are to follow.
The brownfield site covers 40,000 square meters, and around 6,500 square meters of gross floor area will be built there. Construction is scheduled to begin in October of this year, with handover to the developer planned for February 2022.
In addition, Implenia has been commissioned in Germany to build a new residential complex in Mannheim-Waldhof. And in Munich, Implenia is building an extended shell for a well-known hotel chain near the train station. In total, the Buildings Division in Germany won an order volume of over 100 million euros or CHF 108 million in July. (ah)
