"Birgit Werner is already invested in PropTech1 and has also recently expanded her financial commitment," said Nikolas Samios, Managing Partner at PropTech1 Ventures, on the occasion of the latest expansion of the partner circle.

Birgit Werner MRICS is honorary Chair Switzerland and Global Trustee of the ULI Urban Land Institute. With her Indevise Group AG based in Zurich, she is responsible for various active investments, developments and advisories in the areas of digitalization and future trends in the real estate industry.

Already in November 2020, the European VC fund had added two more venture partners and investors: Timo Tschammler FRICS, former CEO of JLL Germany, and Klaus Freiberg, former COO of the German residential real estate group Vonovia. The PropTech1 VC platform, founded at the beginning of 2018, now includes nine venture partners, two managing partners and five investment managers. From Switzerland, Peter Staub, CEO and founder of the Swiss company Pom+, and Beat Schwab, a member of the board of directors of various Swiss companies such as Zug Estates and Varia US Properties, are among the new members, along with Birgit Werner. These two venture partners already joined PropTech1 Ventures in March 2019.

The shareholders of the Berlin-based VC platform are leading German real estate banks, European real estate groups, and medium-sized and serial entrepreneurs. Since its founding in early 2018, it has offered its portfolio of proptech and contech startups not only capital but also a network in the real estate industry. "We already receive circa 40% of our investment offers from other European countries," Samios explained. In the fourth quarter of 2020, he said, the fund management company behind PropTech1 Ventures was expanded for the benefit of PropTech1 fund investors and portfolio companies. In the future, it will operate under the brand ERIC (European Real Estate Innovation Capital). (mr)
