Crowdhouse opens transaction platform for third parties
Change of strategy at Crowdhouse: Whereas the Zurich-based real estate company previously operated its online platform only for its own transactions involving income-producing properties, it is now open to all owners wishing to sell their properties.
Until now, Crowdhouse has operated the self-developed platform Crowdhouse.ch exclusively for its own transactions of investment properties to sole buyers and co-owners. Since mid-December 2020, other owners have also been able to advertise their properties independently on the platform without the involvement of an agent or Crowdhouse.
Crowdhouse says that a fully automated digital bidding process is available for handling the sale, so that the entire transaction - including coordination of the bids and communication with potential buyers - can be handled via the platform. The company intends to check each publication to ensure that the seller is indeed the owner.
During the start-up phase, the independent sale of an investment property via Crowdhouse's platform will be free of charge, after which the company will charge a fee of 0.5% of the sale price in the event of a successful transaction. (ah)
