Shortly after the acquisition of the facility company Rohr AG, Investis is further expanding the Real Estate Services segment. As of 18 March 2021, the real estate company will acquire SEA Lab - Safety and Environmental Analysis SA. The company was founded in 2019 and employs 13 people.

With laboratories in Biel and Zurich, SEA Lab offers accredited analyses of asbestos in building materials and air samples, asbestos analyses in drinking water and surface water, analyses of asbestos-contaminated soils and road surfaces, and other analyses of all kinds of pollutants in building materials. The company generated annual sales of CHF 2 million in 2020. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Due to increased testing requirements, strong growth is expected in the area of safety and environmental analytics in Switzerland, according to Investis. The market volume is currently estimated at 15 million per year.

SEA Lab will continue to operate as an independent company at its existing locations under its existing name, and all employees will be retained. The company is an optimal complement to the subsidiary ProLabo in the field of building material analyses with a focus on asbestos. "This acquisition will make Investis the Swiss market leader in the detection and analysis of asbestos. The integration into the Investis Group will also create interesting opportunities for further development and synergies," says Walter Eberle, Head of Real Estate Services at Investis.
