Stoneweg, the real estate investment advisor and asset manager headquartered in Geneva and active in Europe as well as in the USA, is further expanding its activities in the hotel sector: The company's management and consulting capacities in the hotel sector will be bundled in the Stoneweg Hospitality division. According to its own information, Stoneweg currently has a hotel portfolio with 1,500 rooms throughout Southern Europe.

"We remain convinced about hotels," says Joaquín Castellví. The co-founder and head of acquisitions Europe at Stoneweg believes the hotel sector will rebound strongly as the pandemic subsides and the economy picks up. In recent years, Stoneweg has "built a strong track record in this sector," he said, adding that Stoneweg's network allows it to take advantage of opportunities that arise due to the dislocation in the market caused by Covid-19.

Miguel Casas has been appointed as Managing Director of Stoneweg Hospitality. Prior to joining Stoneweg, Casas spent ten years with CBRE, most recently serving as Head of Hotel Investment Properties, Continental Europe. Prior to that, he served as Head of Hotel Investment Properties in Spain. According to Stoneweg, Miguel Casas' team will be further strengthened. (bw)
