Swiss Life AST launches new investment groups
Swiss Life Investment Foundation has launched new investment groups for infrastructure investments and opened the "Real Estate Switzerland" and "Commercial Real Estate Switzerland" investment groups.
The opening of the "Real Estate Switzerland" and "Commercial Real Estate Switzerland" investment groups has met with great interest among investors, and the targeted volume of up to CHF 500 million has been oversubscribed several times, the Swiss Life Investment Foundation says. The capital will be used to reduce leverage, purchase additional properties, implement new construction projects and make ongoing investments in the portfolio.
The two newly launched "Infrastructure Global" investment groups (denominated in euros and currency-hedged in CHF) had a "very pleasing response" with around CHF 200 million in capital commitments. The investment groups are designed as an "evergreen structure", i.e. without a fixed term, and aim to offer investors access to Swiss Life Asset Managers' infrastructure investment platform and thus to the target funds in which the insurer also invests its own assets. Both new investment groups are managed with a focus on renewable energy investments and taking ESG factors into account and are one of the first investment solutions ever to be approved by OAK BV under the new infrastructure quota pursuant to BVV 2.
