Implenia completes takeover of BAM Swiss
With the acquisition of BAM Swiss AG, completed on May 11, 2021, Implenia advances to become a leading construction services provider in the healthcare sector.
The closing of the transaction will see Implenia take over the planning and realization of the Aarau Cantonal Hospital, among other projects. In addition, BAM Swiss AG's previous projects, BSSE in Basel - a modern laboratory and research building for biosystems science and engineering - as well as the Felix Platter Hospital project in Basel and an ETH student residence in Zurich would also be managed by Implenia with immediate effect. The 45 experts from BAM Swiss AG would be taken on. Implenia intends to use the expertise it has thus gained in the planning and realization of large and complex projects in the healthcare sector for future acquisitions as well as for existing projects.
With the acquisition of BAM Swiss, Implenia is strengthening its market presence and becoming a leading construction services provider in the healthcare sector in Switzerland, an industry with great growth potential in terms of real estate, the construction group says. Implenia had announced the acquisition at the end of March. (bw)
