New Chairman for ULI Switzerland
The Urban Land Institute (ULI) has appointed Jürgen Marc Volm, Partner and Board Member at Pom+ Consulting, as Chairman of ULI Switzerland.
Professor Jürgen Marc Volm began his two-year term on 1 July. He succeeds Birgit Werner MRICS, CEO of Indevise Group, who has led ULI Switzerland since 2016. Werner will continue to play an active role on the ULI Switzerland Executive Committee and as ULI Global Governing Trustee, the network says.
Volm is considered a proven real estate expert with experience in international project management and project development. Before joining Pom+ Consulting he was responsible for the development of Drees & Sommer in Switzerland. In addition, he is a professor of international project management at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences (HFT). Volm says that as chairman he also wants to contribute to the current ESG debate, particularly in relation to the areas of circular economy and social responsibility. In addition, he says his aim is to introduce ULI UrbanPlan to Swiss schools and universities - a programme designed to provide students and pupils with knowledge on the subject of urban renewal. A programme for members between 35 and 45 years of age is also planned to connect the upcoming generation of leaders in the DACH region.
The ULI is considered the oldest and largest network of real estate professionals with more than 45,000 members worldwide and over 4,000 members in Europe. In Switzerland, it includes over 100 real estate players from the private and public sectors. The Swiss offshoot was founded in 2014 and since then over 30 events have been held with more than 1,000 participants. In addition, a Young Leader group is active for members under 35 years of age.
