Accor: Expansion in Switzerland in view
The Accor hotel group wants to open 30 to 40 new hotels in Switzerland in the next two years. This was announced by the head of the Northern Europe business in an interview.
Duncan O'Rourke, who heads up Accor's Northern Europe business, said in an interview with the CH media newspapersthat they want to take over some existing hotels. About 10 to 15 hotels are to be opened completely new.
As O'Rourke said in the interview, there are growth opportunities for Accor in the course of the Corona pandemic. He expects a consolidation in the hotel market: Many hotels will probably join larger chains, and Accor is also trying to bind smaller, independent hotels to itself. O'Rourke was also convinced that the luxury segment would increase.
The Accor Group includes 39 brands with more than 5,100 hotels and 10,000 restaurants and bars in 110 countries. (ah)
