Swiss Life: New investment vehicles for sustainable mortgages
The Swiss Life Investment Foundation and Swiss Life Asset Managers are launching new collective investment schemes for sustainable mortgages: a Swiss investment fund for qualified investors and an investment group for Swiss pension funds.
The new Swiss investment fund "Swiss Life ESG Mortgage Fund" and the investment group "Swiss ESG Mortgages" are designed to enable investments in Swiss mortgages that meet the sustainability criteria of Swiss Life Asset Managers, the asset manager says. These would include environmental goals such as mitigating climate change and pollution, as well as protecting ecosystems. The investment vehicles invest according to specific criteria in mortgages that finance sustainable and energy-efficient buildings, but also renovations that increase energy efficiency.
While the investment fund was already launched at the beginning of July 2021, the investment group is to follow in the second half of 2021. The target volume should be at least CHF 1 billion. According to Swiss Life Asset Managers, the new investment solutions are among the first collective investments in mortgages in Switzerland to be managed according to sustainability criteria. (ah)
