According to its new sustainability report, the Zug Estates Group has reduced its greenhouse gas emissions from 17.3 kilograms in 2010 to 1.8 kilograms per square meter of energy reference area. According to the company, this puts it in a leading position in the real estate sector in Switzerland.

By two years' time, the operation of all properties should be virtually CO2-free and without any additional energy supply from outside the region. Zug Estates intends to achieve this by connecting further properties in the Zug centre area to the Circulago lake water network. The company's own operating fleet is also to be completely converted to electric drive by the end of 2023. At the same time, the company has announced plans to expand the production of solar energy on its own sites. The additional electricity required for operations is to be sourced from regional renewable energy sources. (ah)
